Small place but great food, service, and atmosphere .
Ordered an appetizer of "Steamers" that we couldn't eat due to the amount of sand in them. The item was removed from our bill but we still paid almost $183 (with tip) for an appetizer, 3 alcoholic drinks, a sprite and 2 lobster rolls. Bring your bank and lower your expectations.
Great service. Excellent food and drinks. Always try to stop here when traveling by Freeport.
This is my favorite place to eat in Maine. I love their baked, stuffed scallops. Very rich and decadent. I could only eat the scallops so I took the delicious coleslaw home for a snack. I had the same meal last year and it was better than I remembered- says a lot for the quality here. Definitely a must try- scallops were perfect and the stuffing was worth all the calories. Fantastic service too. Only complaint is they aren't open every day!
Wonderful seafood!. We had the scallops appetizer, which was delicious very tender and perfectly cooked. (Note the empty plate!) A great deal actually as you get a lot for an appetizer. Then the haddock platter and sandwich were both perfect. Tender, fresh and very tasty. Even the coleslaw was very fresh and crunchy. We sat outside on such a beautiful day. Highly recommend
So.... normally don't put bad reviews down unless they are worthy of it and this place is worthy of it because the food is good. Service was lacking for us, 2 other people seated after us were helped before we were, drinks took forever to come out (had to ask for waters again that finally came out after the food). Food took a while to come out and was good (scallop plate and salads) but that was the last time we saw our waitress. Looking around the patio everyone out there was in dismay wondering if they would get refills or maybe a chance to order another drink. Not sure if they cut staff already due to the summer season being over or if we got a waitress that just didn't care but service definitely needs help. Food was great though, kudos to the cook.
Had a very good lunch at Jameson Tavern. We got seated quickly. The staff was attentive and friendly. The food was good. I had the crab melt and we shared a lobster cocktail. Although none of us ordered it, we loved that they had a “lazy lobster” on the menu where they take all the meat out for you!
Loved the atmosphere and everyone who worked here who we interacted with was *lovely* af. We got the baked lobster and the baked seafood medley and both were great. I loved the lobster, it was perfectly cooked and the scallops were excellent. I’m not sure I’d get the baked lobster again though because the stuffing in some ways distracted from the exceptional quality of the lobster itself. Fantastic though and glad I tried it! Side potatoes were great but broccoli was over cooked. The portion size for the Baked Seafood Medley was a bit on the small size!
